Serious Leaks. How to Search and Fix?

Brake fluid leaks

The brake fluid is an essential part of the braking system. When the brake pedal is depressed, the master cylinder pressures the incompressible consumable to the proper pressure. Thanks to this, the fluid tends to exert pressure on the brake pistons in the caliper. Its movement, in turn, causes the disc and brake pads to work. It must be considered that all the safety systems (from ABS, through ASR and ESP, to the latest ones, e.g., controlling the speed while descending a hill) also work on brake fluid, modulating its supply to a specific brake caliper.

The leak formation can appear due to:

  • Worn-out master cylinder seals;

  • Due to leakage in the rigid brake line because of mechanical damage;

  • Leakage in the flexible brake hose because of the aging of the rubber parts or mechanical damage.

  • Wear or damage seals in the brake caliper.

Brake fluid leakage can be easily distinguished by the stains under the car, wet, flexible end of brake hoses, decreasing braking performance and the declining fluid level in the reservoir. This is a completely unacceptable failure that can lead to an accident and require an immediate visit to the best car service center in Mumbai.

Engine oil leaks

Engine oil is an inseparable liquid element of the engine that has all-around effects. The oil helps lubricate, cool, seats, and drains contaminants from the engine and turbine or compressor. Proper operation of the engine mechanism and its related accessories depends on the suitable amount of engine oil in the lubrication system, its composition, appropriate pressure from the oil pump, and the quality of filtering provided by the oil filter.

The reasons for oil leaks from the engine may be due to:

  • Mechanical damage to the external elements of the engine, e.g., oil pan and oil cooler;

  • Wearing-out of the rubber seals, e.g., dipstick, cylinder head gasket, or the oil plug;

  • Wear of the metal-composite parts (e.g., head gasket or crankshaft simmering and camshaft). Such a thing can happen due to aging or too high engine operating temperature.

Without a sufficient quantity of oil in the lubrication system, the engine's mechanical elements are rapidly worn. In such a situation, oil cannot be supplied to all lubrication points. In addition, there is a risk of the turbocharger or sockets seizing up. Lack of engine oil also causes the engine to operate at a higher temperature. Elements dependent on the accurate oil pressure become unable to work properly: e.g., the timing (because of the poor operation of the hydraulic timing chain tensioner) and the variable valve timing system. The drive part may seize, which will be very similar to its technical death. How do you determine engine oil leaks? There will be traces of stains under the car. Leaks are also visible on the engine block and in the engine compartment (if the simmerings are damaged). The engine car also transmits a lot of noises. If the head gasket or the oil cooler gets damaged, the engine oil may end up in the cooling system. It is best to visit car repair at home in Mumbai at the moment you notice such problems.
