Every car owner wants the services of his car for a long time without any troubles associated with its technical condition and operation. In order for the car to serve its owner for a long time, it is important to undergo regular maintenance.

If a car owner performs regular maintenance and carries out prevention of possible breakdowns and replaces consumables. The car will provide a comfortable and safe ride for a long time without any trouble.

Every car has a  timely maintenance prerequisite during the warranty period, and if it is missed, you can say goodbye to the warranty forever.

Difference between car repair and maintenance

In both cases, the car is inspected by a car service station, and its technical faults are eliminated. Unlike maintenance, emergency car repairs are done to eliminate a specific malfunction that interferes with the running of the car.

During car repair, it is examined for errors on different levels, which are instantly eliminated. The list of works involved in both cases may differ significantly from each other.

Types of maintenance:

The car's maintenance can be classified according to the complexity of the task, consistency, and time taken to carry it out. The main types of maintenance include:

  • Daily Inspection,
  • Zero maintenance,
  • First maintenance,
  • Second maintenance,
  • Seasonal maintenance.

Daily maintenance

Daily maintenance includes checking the car's primary components and assemblies before starting the car. It can help you easily identify and highlight minor problems requiring an urgent solution to avoid further serious damage.

Daily inspection includes:

  • Inspection of the overall condition of the car,
  • Inspection of the status of the paintwork and body,
  • Condition and availability of state license plates,
  • Inspecting the electrical and electronic devices of the car,
  • Monitoring the health of the sensors,
  • Inspection of the serviceability of the steering operation,
  • Inspecting the engine oil level,
  • Checking the position of the mirrors,
  • Checking the health of the optics.

Zero maintenance

This maintenance is for new cars during the so-called "running-in" period.  It is carried out after 1,500 km of run and includes a superficial inspection of the parts and assemblies of the car and the replacement of engine oil and oil filter.

First maintenance

First maintenance is carried out after every 15,000 km or a year of service of the car. It does not matter whether the car drove during this period or not. This type of service is preferable to be carried out in an official workshop because the work may require the use of complex equipment for diagnosing and repairing a car.

Second maintenance

It is done when a car completes 60,000 km in the running. It includes all the previous measures included in zero maintenance and first maintenance. However, this maintenance may require the removal of parts, assemblies, and an oil change in the gearbox and antifreeze.

Maintenance of this kind should also be done at a reliable car service or with a car repair service app having experienced specialists.

Seasonal maintenance

Seasonal maintenance is done to prepare a car for operation at a certain time of the year. Given the Indian climate, this type of service is mandatory and requires it to be carried out twice a year.
